The organisation cannot change faster than the leader does.
Sodia is a global leadership consultancy headquartered in Melbourne. We work with CEOs, senior Executives, and their Leadership Teams on change at the level of identity, rather than capability.
The practice has been operating for more than thirty years, across South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Australia. We work nationally across Australia, and globally across South Africa, the United Kingdom, and APAC.
Sodia’s approach was not developed in a workshop room. It was forged in conditions where the stakes of leadership failure were existential.
The methodology that became the Architecture of Systemic Change was shaped during South Africa’s transition from apartheid to democracy, working with leaders navigating commercial, cultural, and social change simultaneously, at the same moment the country itself was being rebuilt.
What was learned there has not changed since. Genuine transformation does not come from better strategy or clearer communication. It comes from leaders who have done the intrinsic work themselves.
That experience became the foundation. Everything Sodia does today, with CEOs in Australia, Leadership Teams in London, and Executives in South Africa, is grounded in what was learned then.
Organisations do not change. People do.
The internal scripts that built a leader’s success are the same ones that will limit what comes next.
When circumstances demand something different, those scripts have to be more than acknowledged. They have to be reformulated.
This is the work Sodia does. Not from the outside in. From the inside out.
Sodia’s work is structured around the Architecture of Systemic Change: three interconnected Journeys, the Leader, the Team, and the Organisation, each building on the one before. At the heart of every engagement is Leader Visioning, a proprietary methodology developed over three decades.
The full architecture, how the three Journeys connect, and why the sequence is not negotiable, is set out in detail on our approach page.
Every Sodia engagement is built on trust, authenticity, intellectual rigour, and profound care and respect for the human experience. We are a purpose-led team with deep expertise and longstanding client relationships.
We do not sell programs. We build partnerships.
We bring extensive experience working with senior leaders in high-consequence environments. We are practitioners, not theorists. Our expertise is grounded in years of applied work: not case studies in a slide deck, but the real, consequential work of helping leaders and organisations genuinely change.
Every client works directly with someone who has done this work.

We have worked with leaders across financial services, healthcare, government, education, for-purpose, and corporate organisations, in Australia, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and across APAC.
Engagements typically run in organisations of 500 to 50,000 people, and are led by the most senior leader in the system.

Sodia has been operating for more than three decades. The methodology was originally developed through work in post-apartheid South Africa and has been refined through engagements across four continents.
The Architecture of Systemic Change was forged during South Africa’s transition from apartheid to democracy, working with leaders navigating commercial, cultural, and social change at the same time. It was not adapted from a business framework. It was developed in conditions where the consequences of leadership failure were existential, and then applied in corporate and government settings across four continents.
Sodia works at the level of identity and purpose rather than capability. Most leadership consultancies build skills, refine strategy, or manage the process of change. Those are useful, and most organisations already have them. What they usually lack is a leader whose own beliefs and patterns have caught up with what the moment now asks. That gap is where change stalls, and it is where Sodia begins: with the most senior leader, never with the system.
The methodology itself came from an unusual place: post-apartheid South Africa, at the scale of rebuilding a country, long before it was ever used in a boardroom.
Senior practitioners, directly. There are no analyst layer and no junior delivery team. Every client works with someone who has personally done this work with leaders in high-consequence environments, and are genuinely committed to the kind of relational engagement that creates long-term, trusted partnerships that enable real transformation.
Sodia works across a wide range of organisation sizes, from small executive teams to enterprises of tens of thousands. Size is not the determining factor.
